The attacker attacks with a right hand straight forward thrust of the knife from the waist to the middle section of the body landing in a right front stance - The defenders right foot steps back and at the same time executes a knifehand low X block (right hand over left) to attackers wrist

The defender positions the right hand then the left hand for an outer double thumb wrist lock

 

The defender rotates the attackers wrist clockwise and upward, keeping the elbow straight. Lunge forward with the left foot to apply pressure to the wrist lock and shoulder lock to release the knife, continue to keep the attackers arm straight.

While holding the wrist the defender executes a right front snap kick

 

The defender then swings his left leg up and over the attackers arm executing an elbow break against the inside of the left knee area

Safety Note:    The elbow, wrist, shoulder locks and leverage kicks are controlled techniques
                        applies with gradual pressure until the compromising opponent taps out. It is
                        vital to restrict excessive speed upon application for testing students and
                        instructors; however, brute force may be demonstrated by the instructor to show
                        permanent immobilization of the limbs for a classroom effect.
