19th king of the Koguryo Dynasty who regained all the lost territories of Korea that had been taken by china and japan.
Theme – Persevering to embrace "no fear of the dark and greater respect for the light." A Recommended Black Belt is being tested, like a tree in a storm, for durability and spirt in preparation for the journey that lies ahead.

Sparring: 2-3 Times

Board Breaking: The student is required to complete a two station break... one station will be a right foot
technique and the other station a left foot technique. No hand technique is required.  It will be the students choice of technique for his/her board breaking. (Note: If the student decides to do a jump kick, no obstacle is required.

Pattern

Ready Position
(facing D)

1a. Execute twin knifehand strikes to the sides while raising the left foot at a 45 degree angle 1b. Slowly bring both hands to the front of the body with the left hand circling, but not touching the right fist while bending the knees in a closed stance toward D 2. Move the left foot to D forming a left front stance while executing a right tension reverse upset punch

3. Move the right foot to D forming a right front stance while executing a left tension reverse upset punch

4. Step the left foot over the right foot moving 45 Degree to D, then step the right foot up to D forming a right front stance while executing a right hooking block 5. Move the right foot to C in a sliding motion forming a left back stance while executing a left low double knifehand block.  6. Step the right foot over the left foot moving 45 Degree to D, then step the left foot up to D forming a left front stance while executing a left hooking block

7. Move the left foot to C in a sliding motion forming a right back stance while executing a right low double knifehand block. 

8. Move the left foot to D forming a left cat stance while executing a left double knifehand block 9. Move the right foot to D forming a right cat stance while executing a right double knifehand block 10. Move the left foot to D turning counter clockwise pivoting with the left foot to form a left front stance while executing a right tension reverse upset palm heel block toward C

11. Move the right foot to C forming a right front stance while executing a left tension reverse upset palm heel block toward C

12. Step the left foot to the right foot forming a closed stance while right circular upset knifehand strike (low) to left palm 13. Execute a low left sidekick 14. Execute a middle left sidekick

15. Lower the left foot to F forming a left back stance while executing a right reverse upset knifehand strike

16. Move the left foot back to the right foot forming a closed stance a execute a left side overhead Hammerfist strike to F 17. Execute a low right sidekick

18. Execute a middle right sidekick 19. Lower the right foot to E forming a right back stance while executing a left reverse upset knifehand strike 20. Move the right foot back to the left foot forming a closed stance a execute a right side overhead Hammerfist strike to E 21. Move the left foot toward C forming a left front stance while executing a right reverse tension palm pressing block

22. Move the right foot toward C forming a right front stance while executing a left reverse tension palm pressing block

23. Move the right foot to D in a stamping motion forming a right back stance????? while executing a right backfist  24. Step the left foot back to C forming a right front stance while executing a left double inner forearm block to D 25. Execute a right inner forearm block and a left low block while hopping back 1/4 stance

26. Execute a right tension horizontal spearhand strike to D while making a slightly longer right front stance

27. Move the left foot to C in a stamping motion forming a left back stance????? while executing a left backfist  28. Step the right foot back to D forming a left front stance while executing a right double inner forearm block to C 29. Execute a left inner forearm block and a right low block while hopping back 1/4 stance


30. Execute a left tension horizontal spearhand strike to C while making a slightly longer right front stance

31. Move the right foot to C forming a right front stance while executing twin high punches 32. Pivot on the right foot turning towards A moving the left foot out to form a left front stance while executing twin upset punches 33. Execute a right front kick
